- Description
The purpose of this study was to assess whether 4 weeks of high-intensity low-volume Wingate training consisting of twelve 30s bouts with 2 min recovery periods combined with Montmorency cherry supplementation will provide sufficient stimulus to improve muscle oxidative capacity and performance over and above the effects of HIT training alone. Subjects (n=18) were blindly assigned to placebo group (PG) or treatment group with Montmorency cherry (MCG) re an t training ea ure in u e : end power, gas exchange threshold (GET), lactate threshold and Yo-Yo IR2 distance covered in metres. All groups improved both physiological and performance variables after 4wk training protocol; even though data was not significantly different between groups, groups,
