Fullera, Pedro (1995) said that the playful activities are, for definition, an act of recreation where the realization of this vital anthropological impulse aimed at promoting development through the implementation of actions carried out freely and spontaneously, governed by the recognition given by the individual on his own personal and existential capacity, which is to say, in full exercise of their freedom. This thesis aims to demonstrate the influence of the playful activities in the cognitive development of children from 3 to 5 years old of Mundo de Papel, Pepe y Mary, and Granja Azul Kindergarten’s ubicated in San Isidro del Inca, in Quito city. This study was conducted by direct observation in the development of the class, where appreciate the influence of recreational activities in the cognitive development of children from 3 to 5 years old, in addition interviews and surveys were conducted for teachers and directors of institutions which provided clear and concrete results to show if it achieved the objective of this research and this allowed to make findings and recommendations apply both in the sites investigated in other Kindergartens. Finally, the following research allowed to propose a didactic – pedagogical guide based on teaching how to implement recreational activities in the cognitive development of children, which will be a useful tool in teaching and learning processes among teachers and students of 3 to 5 years old.
Fullera, Pedro (1995), considera que "la actividad lúdica es, por definición, un acto de recreación donde resulta la concreción de ese vital impulso antropológico destinado a propiciar el desarrollo mediante la realización de acciones ejecutadas de forma libre y espontánea, regidas por el reconocimiento que hace el individuo sobre su propia y personal capacidad existencial, lo que equivale a decir: en pleno ejercicio de su libertad".
