The following investigation work starts from a problema that there is in the fifth year students of General Basic Education, level “B”, afternoon sesión of the Institución Educativa Fiscal Concentración Deportiva de Pichincha School in the city of Quito Pichincha Province. It was determined base don a diagnostic test applied to the students in which it was posible to detect that there are problems in understanding a text, this a pertinent diagnosis was made, amalize the problema and apply new strategies that promote better reading comprehension. The reasons for this problema are the lack of methodological strategies, the absence of resources and the limited practice of Reading at school, at home for this reason it has caused low academic performance in the students. After that I have made this study, it applied methodological strategies, use stories in a nice and enjoyable atmosphere which helped to the students participation also, it causes changes in the teaching learning process.
El siguiente trabajo de investigación parte de un problema presente en los estudiantes de quinto año de E.G.B. paralelo “B” jornada vespertina de la I.E. F. Concentración Deportiva de Pichincha de la ciudad de Quito Provincia Pichincha. El mismo que se determinó en base a una prueba de diagnóstico aplicada a los alumnos en la cual se pudo observar que existen problemas para comprender un texto, por lo que se procedió a realizar el diagnostico pertinente, analizar el problema y posteriormente a plantear la aplicación de nuevas estrategias que fomenten una mejor comprensión lectora. Las causas por las que se da este problema es la falta de estrategias metodológicas, la ausencia de material didáctico y la escasa práctica de la lectura en la escuela y en los hogares, ocasionando un bajo rendimiento académico en los estudiantes. Después de haber realizado este estudio, se aplicaron estrategias metodológicas utilizando cuentos en un ambiente agradable y divertido lo cual favoreció la participación de los estudiantes provocando cambios en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje.
